Accessed 14 October 2015〕 The octagonal chapel was constructed as part of the "planned village" of Groes, created by architect Edward Haycock, Sr. The chapel's design was approved by local landowner C. R. M. Talbot, and it is now the only octagonal chapel in the whole of Wales.〔(Coflein ). Accessed 14 October 2015〕 In 1974, a decision was made to demolish the village to make room for the new M4 motorway.
